All people have different perceptions of their ideal life. It may mean obtaining financial freedom or over all good health, having great relationships, or even as simple as owning a new pair of shoes.
Unfortunately, a lot of us fail to reach our aspirations. What is it that prevents many of us from getting our heart's deepest desires?
Well the trick is to know exactly what you want.
Some of us don't really know what we want. One moment we are excited over one particular thing and then the next thing you know we completely abandon it; either because we lose interest or maybe because we encounter a problem that we decide to just give up.
If we always changed our minds or we kept giving up when the going gets a bit tough then we will never get anywhere.
Maybe you're a little confused and you don't seem to know what you really want in life.
Try this little exercise and ask yourself this:
What is it that makes your heart beat?
What makes you happy?
What are you consistently thinking about?
What do you really want to do for the rest of your life?
What is it that you enjoy doing?
What is it that you are obsessed with?
You might want to consider this, write down on a piece of paper your possible answers for the questions above. You can write down anything, anything that comes to mind. Then circle at least five items that interest you the most. Now look at your answers and try and choose with your heart one thing and it should be something that brings out the best in you, which is worthy to spend all your time and focus all your efforts on.
You might want to ask your close friends and relatives about their personal dreams. You could also read books and surf the web to help you.
Listen to your heart, some people may disagree with you or may want to give you advice, as long as you stay firm with what you really want. The final decision is yours to make. Concentrate on what you want, not on what others may want for you.
